Biography

Nish the Fish is a poet, songwriter and yoga teacher in Los Angeles, California.
After hearing the opening riff of Black Sabbath's Iron Man while painting a poster for a middle school art project, Nish had an ephipany: the only thing he wanted to do was be a rock n roll guitar player. He started his career playing guitar for Indie-RnB singers in Kuala Lumpur open mic clubs. Meanwhile, a solo career was incubating somewhere in the wilderness of his SoundCloud discography. After deciding against going to law school to be become a miserable materialist corporate lawyer, Nish moved to Los Angeles instead and attended UCLA where he formed the alternative rock band, Santiago's Trip with college mates, Sahfa Aboudkhil and Marcel Burgunder. With a revolving door of drummers, an enthusiastic film-maker manager (Brian Cesson) and the vigor of a young band ready to take over the world, Santiago's Trip went on to have a lot of fun. They played the Viper Room, a lifelong dream of Nish's and shortly after, imploded because of disagreements between band members. Nish entered a dark period in which he nearly abandoned his music career. But after spending some time in Vietnam and Thailand "finding himself" (thou shalt not make 'Eat Pray Love' references) and listening to ALOT of Frank Zappa, he returned to LA to start making albums in the kitchen of his Westwood apartment, where he currently resides with the Love of his Life and a few orchids. He fronts the New Age rock band Matsya.
