Digital South is Techno, is electro, is triphop is pop is no-pop! DS is straight Techno, electronic Pop, experimental electronics and dreampop. Inspired by the Music of the 80ies and the Techno and Electronic Music of the 90ies Ch. Althaus started this project in 1998. "Dubtechlava" is what EinsLive cult presenter Klaus Fiehe called DS sound in his show. The cult label "Sähkö/PUU"/Finland released the first EP "Golden Area" on vinyl in 2001, which attracted a lot of attention in magazines and on radio. "Boxer Recordings" /Cologne then released the first album on CD (including vinyl maxis by M. Schaffhäuser and MFlux). Singles appeared all over Europe on various compilations. Over the next few years, DS continues to make remixes for other artists (including Leland P, Second Decay). Since 2006 Singer and lyricist Sandra Zaboub lends her impressive voice to some tracks. One track "Last Lullaby" was remixed and released in 2016 by Lucidflow/Berlin by well-known techno artists (Nadja Lind, Paul Loraine, Andrey Loud a. others). Since 2023, Friedel Muders (Fuego) releases DS's entire repertoire.
