Biography

Kim-Lian van der Meij is a Dutch multi-talented TV-host. Whether it’s presenting, acting or performing, Kim-Lian has established herself as an all-round TV-personality in The Netherlands. Kim-Lian started her career as a performing artist releasing a number of singles (Teenage Superstar, Kids in America, Garden of love) and albums (Balance), achieving both national and international chart successes. Various tours followed, after which she decided to take her career onto a different path and start an acting career. Over the years she took part in major Dutch drama series en films such as Onderweg Naar Morgen (800.000+ viewers) , Doktor Tinus (over 1.000.000 viewers) , Zomer in Zeeland, De club van de lelijke kinderen, Apenstreken en Hartenstrijd. As a performing artist, Kim-Lian is one of the leading ladies in the Dutch theatre world. With a dozen leading parts in major productions such as Footloose, Fame, Legally Blonde and Shrek, she performed in front of 1.000.000 people, for which she received various important nominations for. In addition to her roles in these productions, she started as TV-host for several public TV channels. With huge TV shows such as Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Strictly Come Dancing and the prestigious Gouden Televisier Gala, she’s positioned herself as an established all-round TV-star. In 2014 Kim-Lian signed with SBS, owned by John de Mol’s Talpa Holding, where she hosted more then 30 different prime-time TV shows in The Netherlands.
