Biography

Graduated in Jazz from the Escuela Superior de Música (INBA), drummer and composer, Adrián Oropeza founded his proposal in 2006 in a Jazz trío showing that Mexican music has great potential to merge, especially with jazz. In 2008 he recorded his first album “Texturas” and in 2011 he presented his second album “Mezcal”. Adrián Oropeza, as leader of his trio, traveled in 2012 to Manila, Philippines as representative of Mexico at the International Jazz Festival (P.I. Jazz Festival) and the 25th Festijazz of La Paz, Bolivia. In 2014 he participated in the Java Jazz Festival in Jakarta, Indonesia and in the Blujazz Club in Singapore. In 2014 Adrián Oropeza was the first mexican and latin american to be invited to the Guimaraes Jazz Festival in Portugal. In 2016, represented Mexico at the FIMU International College Music Festival in Belfort France, Jazzindegracht festivals in The Hague and Delft Jazz Festival in the Netherlands the following year. International Jazz Festival of the island of Santa Lucia in the Caribbean in 2018. Between 2012 and 2014 he participated in other musical projects such as H3A alongside the renowned flutist Horacio Franco; as well as in the Sattva Jazz Project. In 2015 he recorded his third album titled Amaneceres and in 2020 record “Motion”his four album as soloist introducing Jazz Quartet with Ivan Barrera on Electric Bass, Daniel Vadillo on Piano, Mariella Bethencourt from Venezuela on Vocals.
