Carlton Carvalho didn’t choose to make music, music chose to make him. A creative writer and poet since age 7 who was greatly inspired by his collection of Dr. Suess books. Living in a house of diverse musical influence from Nas JAY-Z & Ms. Lauryn Hill @Michael Jackson & Phil Collins to Bee Gees @Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes Gil Scott-Heron and so many more he naturally grew into a songwriter of multiple genres. Growing up in Harlem, New York City he was definitely most influenced by hip-hop culture. Many would say this is his area of expertise having millions of streams on independently released hip hop songs like Socrates Freestyle Still Do It which was featured in Spotify’s Fresh Finds playlist and even the jazz influenced single featuring Russ Still Belong to Me. In 2025 Carlton has a goal to make the music he loves to listen to. Feeling like he’s outgrown todays rap scene he’s looking to use the skill of his pen, vocals and seasoned musical taste fuse his current sound with the music he enjoys listening to personally like Thee Sacred Souls Hotel Ugly and Joji. In late 2024 Carlton released Go Big Or Go Home with RudyWade blending his hip hop sound with an alternative indie rock production and the song is doing well at 60,000 streams in the first month independently. Making sure to keep his original listeners engaged for the ride he plans to bring them on in 2025 Carlton has released We Winnin' a catchy hip hop single about celebrating your wins, your team and life!
