Originally from Northern Germany, Kay Barton started his first steps in the production of electronic music 1994, followed by DJing 1997. He has performed at renowned clubs and festivals nationally and internationally, including Rave The Planet Berlin and played for diverse German radio stations. Later he started organising events, most notably the 'The Place To Be' series back in the 2010s. In 2016, he shifted towards pure techno music under his real name. In the same year, he released his debut single, 'Return 01' on Bonzai, followed by remixes on Emerald & Doreen Rec.. His 2019 EP, MacroGod, featured remixes by Dr. Motte and Mijk van Dijk. 
As his career progressed, Kay released music on various labels before signing to Trapez in 2020 and IAMT 2022. He continued releasing music and collaborating with artists such as Tom Wax and YULI ANA. After moving to Vienna he and his wife founded 'TRENDWÆNDE' events in 2023. Together they organised the 'Save The Planet Float' at the Rave The Planet Parade in Berlin with three promoters and label operators. 2024 TRENDWÆNDE held several techno events in Vienna and brought their own 'Play Techno, Stop Wars' float to Rave The Planet. In the same year they launched 'CONNÆKT.' a series of arty and sophisticated techno events featuring well-known international as well as local artists.
