Born Alex Ytterdahl in 1986, and raised on the countryside of Norway, the closest thing to funk was the scent of cow manure from nearby farms, and the furthest thing from funk was the local music scene. In search for something to identity himself with, he’d record and produce "local" rappers from the nearest city called Drammen. He’d later gradually move from a very sample based production style, to falling more and more in love with synthesizers and drum machines. This would help develop an even more unique sound, both on collaboration projects such as the brother rap duo Copula with Denial the Rice Cracker, and his more recent solo material.
