Nyakallo Andile Phoswana, professionally known as Casty_23. Born and bred in Free State, Bloemfontein in Rockland is an all-around musician who is very versatile, with hip-hop being his first sound. He has continued to experiment with other genres as such Amapiano, Kwaito & RnB. He is well-known for fusing languages when he raps. "My mom is Tswana and my dad is Xhosa, that is why I love to rap in both languages," says Casty_23, he further explained that he's only learning isiXhosa now that he has a strong relationship with his father and that he only grew up speaking Setswana. He is so passionate about knowing IsiXhosa, which is why he recently dropped his second mixtape "Mgcina II The Tape," of which he named it after his clan name. He dropped his first ever solo mixtape back in 2019, which consists of 15 tracks, and it featured a lot of artists from Bloemfontein. He dropped it with hard copies, then later uploaded it on Audiomack. He became known in his city because of his first hit song titled M'thakathi when he was still a duo with KayWap called Re2kisaPatsi, which sat on the number 1 spot on the 05Top5 charts, #TheRapUp on CUT FM 105.8 for a month plus few weeks. After that, the rest was history. Casty is a Get Real SA Award Compatition Nominee & The Kulture 051 Award Nominee and has performed multiple times at the biggest event in Bloemfontein which is Single Braai.
