Biography

Over the past five years, rapper and producer Ntantu has been quietly developing a signature sound of Rap Afro Soul, RnB and Dancehall, showcasing a fusion of styles and influences. This is reflected in his songwriting and production. Ntantu firmly planted his feet in the music scene with his self-produced summer 2018 release "Love and Leave You"; the record was added to the playlist on BBC 1Xtra in 2018. Ntantu has spent the last 3 years touring as a support act with fellow Leeds native Danny-T. In 2020, they were both set to make their Glastonbury Festival debut before the event was cancelled due to the pandemic. Over the years, Ntantu has made a name for himself as a standout performer, most notably being billed on the same lineups as the likes of Young T & Bugsey, Lethal Bizzle, Ms Banks, Wretch 32, Wes Nelson, Pongo and Becky Hill to name a few. In early 2021, Ntantu released “Pressure (Oh My Goodness)" was debuted on BBC Radio 1 by Gemma Bradley and has been championed by DJ Jeremiah Asiamah. Previously Ntantu has been co-signed by the likes of Charlie Sloth and BBC 1xtra's DJ Target. Ntantu opened 2023 with a performance at Leeds 2023's Awakening event at Headingley Stadium in Leeds, to a 15,000 capacity audience. Ntantu has also recently made appearances at Creamfields, Parklife, Nass fest and Great Escape festival, he is on a mission to break the UK scene as one of the leading acts in the North of England in Afro-Rap.
