Biography

Flavio Romero Born in Buenos Aires (Argentina) on February 25, 1983. Bachelor of Music (UNLa) and currently a PhD candidate in Arts (UNA). He is a bass player, double bass player, composer and producer. Since 2019 he has been a professor on double bass and bass chairs in the jazz area at the Escuela de Música Popular de Avellaneda. Actively he participates in the music scene with different projects, such as: Oscar Giunta Supertrío! - With whom he has made national tours as well as internationals in Chile, Uruguay and the USA where, in addition to performing in different recognized venues of the New York and Wisconsin jazz scene, they have recorded their first album entitled “Apalap”. (Which has been nominated for the Gardel Awards in 2020) Jazz Ua - This is a Ukrainian / Argentine project with which he has toured both around Argentina and Paraguay, as well as Ukraine, in cities such as Kiev, Lviv, Dnipro, among others. Hernán Jacinto New Trío - With whom he has just recorded material that includes original music and interesting versions of the music of the Argentine icon Carlos Gardel. Minino Garay - With whom they have just released the album entitled “Speaking Tango”, released on the label of New York Sunnyside records. In August 2021, Flavio Romero released his third solo album called “Paisajes de un venidero retorno” together with the pianist Javier Burin Heras, the trumpet player Sebastián Greschuk and the drummer Fernando Moreno.
