J Nicole is a native of Jackson, MS, whose love for music began as a young child. Like most artists, she began singing in church at the age of 5. Throughout the years, she has participated in school choirs and ensembles. She is an alumna of the Mississippi School of the Arts, where she began classical voice training. She continued her education and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance from Tougaloo College. 
 J Nicole is a writer and composer, whose style is best described as neo-gospel: a mix of neo-soul and gospel. Her primary goal is to reach the world with the message of Jesus Christ in a unique way. In addition to singing, she is also a well versed spoken word performer. J Nicole uses both art forms to spread a message of light, love, and hope to the world.
