EL-is Born in Fort Rucker, Alabama, Earl Ellis (El-is) Dix Jr would be introduced to music at a young age. His Dad Earl Dix Sr. jump-started El-is’s passion for music by putting drumsticks in his hand. El-is would start on drums but, later found a passion for writing Worship Songs which lead to writing Poetry. That formula of Worship, Rhythm and Poetry has given El-is a unique sound. Similar to the late rapper Tupac, my mission is to be more than just a rap musician / The elevation of today’s generation / If I could make ‘em listen / Church (In the form of A legalistic view ain’t what we need, no longer stuck in Religion / Time to play and strategize, my people gotta get free.” In other words, my aim is to make music that everyone can listen to and enjoy. No matter the color or cultural background. I want to make music that bridges gaps between cultures. Music that can be used as a guideline to freedom. If I'm successful at that then my music and influence to be successful away from music will out live me. That's bigger than fame.”
