Ibrahim Babayev is among the most promising Gen Z tar players (tar is a most adored traditional musical instrument in Azerbaijan), composer and music producer based in Baku. His recent interest in melting together the sound of tar with samples and beats of electronic music has brought about the album titled vİBrant. It includes seven original compositions produced and performed by the author in a post-genre fluid amalgamation of folk, ethnic, traditional, contemporary academic, mellow pop, trance, EDM, experimental electronica and more genre markers. What may appear as stylistically inconsistent, 'eclectic' is however an honest attempt of enjoying and sharing the fascination with deliberate mix-up of nostalgic, even outmoded sounds and chords with quite 'radical' interventions towards the edges of electronic music.
