Michael Jackson welcomed Aqil' participation on the Dangerous album where he co/wrote and performed on the song 'She Drives Me Wild'. Before 21 his creative signature touched numerous albums throughout the industry winning him several ASCAP Top 10 awards, Pop awards, MC LYTE' Grammy nomination for 'Ruff-Neck' which became the first Gold single from a Female rap soloist, Billboard Top-10 Awards and a long list of Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum hits culminating to 2016's Soul Train Awards, performance broadcast in recognition of the New Jack Swing genre.
