Biography

Not to be confused with Will Sergeant's solo project of the same name, Glide was an Australian rock band that released three albums and nine singles/EPs during their existence in the '90s. Formed in Sydney in 1991 and led by well-regarded songwriter William Arthur, the group referred to their hard-hitting and melodic sound as "wall of harmony." Known for their powerful shows, the group attained a cult following in their native country but struggled to gain notoriety elsewhere despite critical raves. Prior to releasing a fourth album, Arthur died in 1999 of a heroin overdose. A five-song session from 1998 was released as Last in 2000, which also included a number of homespun four-track recordings. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
