Whim is the moniker of Portland-based songwriter Sarah Isabella DiMuzio. Sarah’s songwriting journey began when she was just a child plonking around on the piano, enjoying the colors and textures she associated with the sounds. Little did she know this would form into a love of music composition that would lead her to write music for film and TV, and release albums of her own. At 19 she moved to the coastal town of Galway, Ireland where she recorded her first full length album titled 400 Days. Upon moving home to Portland she signed on to record her second album Abuzz in the Abyss with local music scene staple Fluff & Gravy Records. Abuzz was released April 24, 2020 and debuted on NPR’s New Music Friday as one of the top 8 albums released that day. Aside from performing and releasing music as Whim, Sarah also writes pop music under the monikers Allebasi, Young Isabella, and Basiil, and has seen song placements on network TV shows including Fox’s New Girl, Oxygen’s Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce, MTV’s Catfish and Teen Mom to name a few.
