MENNIS has been a fixture in the South Manchester music scene for over 15 years since emerging in Youth Clubs and on Pirate Radio. Known for his lyricism, complex rhyming schemes and authentic, introspective content, MENNIS has always been well respected as one of the very best emcees to come out of the Manchester scene. Following a brief hiatus, MENNIS reaffirmed his position as one of Manchester’s best throughout 2018 and 2019, following up features with various artists with solo releases Hoods Hottest, Red Dot and Nokia on P110, GRM Daily, and Link Up TV. 2019 culminated with the releases of Low Low and Sunshine featuring Tyler Daley of Children of Zeus, from the forthcoming EP "Low Lif£". Recorded and released independently, Low Lif£ is an ode to South Manchester and was released on new years day in 2020. Including production credits from Dyno, JSD of Virus Syndicate and MENNIS himself and has guest vocal features from DYNO and [ K S R ] as well as the lead single with Tyler Daley. "Low Lif£ is a reflection of my influences and surroundings growing up in South Manchester. With this in mind, I wanted to work with the best producers and artists from Manchester to bring this to life and I think we have achieved that with this project" Throughout 2020 MENNIS is working on new music with artists and producers such as; DEECO, Biome, Black Josh, Con M1, HMD and Sangy as well as continuing to work with collaborators on this EP; Dyno, Tyler Daley, and [ K S R ].
