Performing artist and songwriter, Shannon Bryant, grew up in Canada listening to pop music, however, she later found herself exploring Brazilian music and fell in love with the beautiful melodies and rhythms. Shannon’s songwriting has managed to merge her influences into her own compelling pieces of universal themes over contemporary melody and rhythm. Her warm, flowing vocals have created her own flair on the classic bossa nova and samba standards. Shannon has performed on stage with Carlos Santana at the Recording Academy Governor’s awards, and has also performed at SunFest World Music Festival, London Ontario Symphony Orchestra, Yerba Buena Gardens, SF State University, Union Square Park, San Francisco, Aeolian Hall and Wolf Performance Hall in London, Ontario. Bryant released her debut Album, “Oceano” in 2007, and “Light” in 2016. Light was self-produced and mixed by Grammy winning producer, Joe Chiccarelli (U2, Tori Amos, Rufus Wainwright, Carole King, Brian Wilson), resulting in a feature on CBC Radio Canada’s “Fresh Air”, as a Mark Rheaume “top pick” for February 2016. Shannon’s track, “Little Samba” has been featured on the PBS show, Roadtrip Nation.
