Mesia began as "Black Cloud" in 1999 by guitarist Mathew Kostoglou and drummer John Kerhulas at the age of 12. They soon picked up Paul Drew on bass and began playing community events in Granada Hills in Los Angeles, California. A year later Mike Lerman joined forces as the band emerged with its own heavy, melodic rock. Just beginning High School, the group had already played several shows in the LA area, which continued until 2007 when Paul Drew left the group and was replaced by long time friend, Nick Salzer. These tranformations evolved the groups sound into "Mesia" the rocking underground legend heard today. The name Mesia actually refers to a himalayan bird, known for its melodies and dangerous ability to damage human ears in large groups. On January 1st, 2020, MESIA singer and guitarist Mike Lerman announced his upcoming solo album "Underdog".
