Biography

The moniker of Manchester-based vocalist, songwriter and producer Jade Mannion, Ecru’s music exists in the hinterland between dreams and reality. Though it’s Mannion’s rich vocal that’s often at the forefront of her songs, the world that she builds around this central element is vast. She draws on strands of late 80’s dream-pop, the otherworldliness of Kate Bush and a Lynchian sense of blurred narrative that sounds equally at home when supporting Can legend Damo Suzuki as it does when performed in the heat and the haze of Salford’s White Hotel
