The Rude Awakening are Johnny Normal and Bridget Gray. This modern synthpop act create fabulous, infectious electronic music with searing synths, amazing rhythm tracks and gloriously acidic lyrics. Synthpop with a slightly sharp edge for grown up ears, touching on relationships, taboos and social / popular culture. TRA also produce and remix for other wonderful acts such as B-Movie, Peter Godwin, Birmingham Electric, Mechanical Cabaret. In 2022/23 The Rude Awakening featured on the amazing album '6122- A Tribute to Andrew Fletcher' (Depeche Mode) with their innovative cover of 'Should Be Higher', which reached number 2 on the German Official Album Charts. The duo are currently recording their second album at their new Dog House Studio, following on from their debut LP Kaleidoscope ...along with a series of EP releases in 2023/24. Collaborations/remixes ongoing with Carlos Peron, Blackcarburning, Mister Strange, Technomancer and others.
