Jacob Salmon is a pianist, composer and beatmaker from Denmark. From an early age, Jacob embarked on a musical journey, mastering a diverse array of instruments including drums, guitar, bass, trumpet and the sampler. He realized his dream of releasing a record in the UK by the age of 24. During the 1990's, he dedicated his early career to serving as a producer/beatmaker and mixing engineer, working in the famed That's How it Is! club night run by Giles Peterson among others. However, unforeseen challenges arose just as he was on the cusp of finalizing a record deal in the United States. Jacob developed tinnitus and an acute sensitivity to loud sounds, effectively bringing his flourishing music career to an abrupt halt. Fast forward 20 years, Jacob embarked on an alternative musical voyage by immersing himself in the world of piano playing and music theory. In a profound epiphany, he recognized that the limitations related to his hearing were primarily mental rather than physical, reigniting his ability to craft music and beats. With the aid of contemporary music technology and the vast reach of the internet, Jacob can now collaborate with accomplished musicians from the US and the UK, all from the comfort of this location in Denmark, resulting in the creation of music that is both aesthetically pleasing and laden with significance. Among the luminaries who inspire him are Prince, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Dr. Dre, DJ Shadow and Gilles Peterson.
