Kamyar Arsani is an avant-garde Sufi poet , multi-instrumentalist , and film music composer from Tehran, Iran. After 34 years of being, he teaches the persian frame drum Daf , and translates while writing children books . Kamyar listens to the wondering ghosts , and sings to us : each our own ancestral hymns. In return, he is mad enough to believe he is room mates with BaBa Taher… Kamyar Arsani’s music wants to be the background ocean as listener becomes a swimming fish between what was lost and what is found. or no, maybe audience will find themselves at the bottom of the ocean with him, in an upside down house with everything floating. Yet, you will be very settled into it. There is time and patience waiting for you. Kamyar Arsani’s music has been inspired by Sohrab Sepehri , Scott Walker and Abbas Kiarostami . KA has published his music on multiple platforms (solo , collaborations) and recently studying and practicing Thanatology frequencies and melodies and pairing the findings with videos and projected images on screen
