Melodywhore is a darkwave electronic project with post rock and industrial roots that began around 2000 with James Reyna as the primary artist. The project has seen a number of incarnations ranging from female guest vocalists to static members but Reyna has been the consistent driving force throughout. From orchestral to industrial to EBM, the common thread is usually dark and melancholic themes. Reyna spins a live DJ radio show every Thursday on Radio Dark Tunnel, a German based indie station with Sapphira Vee. In 2023, melodywhore became a Joy Thief after remixing the track 6 to 3, a track in support of women’s bodily autonomy. With the new album ready to be released in May, melodywhore is currently working on producing other material. In June of 2023, melodywhore welcomed Rath Campbell as an official member of the band. Rath has contributed his guitars and creativity to a large number of songs over the past few years, it simply made sense to bring him on board.
