Biography

Born in 1965, in Buenos Aires, Argentina He studied with G.Pomponio, D. Costoyas and V. Villadangos in the Conservatorio Provincial Juan José Castro, in Buenos Aires, where he obtained his Diploma in classical guitar. After studying in Universidad de Buenos Aires, he obtained his degree as sociologist in 1993. From 1994, he gained interest in early music, specializing on lute, theorbo, baroque guitar and thorough bass, becoming the first theorbo player in Argentina. From that date, he has been playing both as a soloist as playing basso continuo with theorbo, baroque guitar, vihuela and lute with leading groups of Argentina, Uruguay and France. He has been playing solo concerts in South America and Europe since 1994. He appears in about 20 C.D.’s, 4 of them, together with Ensemble Elyma (Gabriel Garrido), and he recorded 3 C.D.’s in which his work as a soloist is the main issue, including first world recordings of Latin American baroque and classical works. The C.D. “Dar luz” finishes the tryptich “Guitars music from baroque to romantic times in Latin America”, which include the C.D.’s “Cifras selectas de guitarra” (baroque guitar music by Santiago de Murcia, belonging to a manuscript found in Chile in 2004), “La guitarra revolucionaria y romántica” (classical and early romantic music for 6 strings guitar in Argentina, Uruguay, Peru and Bolivia in the 1800’s).
