Since making his debut on EPMmusic with 2015's "Magnetica / Recovery" EP, Francesco Terranova has released 5 EPs on the label in the last 9 years. "Iron & Sea" marks his debut full length release, a compilation of tracks from these EPs across the years, plus 4 new tracks to highlight where he currently stands as a producer. Italy's Francesco Terranova launched his career in the mid '90s as a recurring guest DJ for the pioneering Techno collective, Open Mindz and has gone on to produce music for labels including Bulletdodge, Renesanz, Stick Records and De-Konstrukt. As a DJ he has played alongside the likes of Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth, Laurent Garnier, Surgeon, Dave Clarke and Luke Slater, to name just a few. Taking a more stripped-back approach to techno, Francesco's productions are based on layers of hypnotic drum and pad patterns, interlaced with tense electronic atmospherics. From the tough and determined "Terra 1" to the spaced-out "Kerio" or the heavy bass of "Magnetica" to "Baraka"'s driving urgency, Terranova keeps it focussed and functional. His forthcoming album's name, "Iron & Sea" is not only a reference to Francesco's life as a sailor from the shores of Naples, it also perfectly captures the rust-encrusted edge of his tough, liquid, percussive take on techno.
