Born and raised in the City of Opa Locka, Benjamin Cobbin aka Stixx had a promising future as an all around athlete until he lost his older brother at the age of 14 to gun violence. Being raised by a single mother and grandparents, Stixx found another alternative to expressingly share his pain of losing his brother through music. Pouring out his heart and feelings on paper inspired not only himself but those around him. For Stixx, music became a coping mechanism for the challenges he faced growing up. What turned out to be a source of expression turned into a sound that many millennials could relate to.
