Biography

Stephanie Clark is a London based clarinettist and bass clarinet specialist. She performs regularly as an orchestral and chamber musician, and has worked internationally with groups including Ensemble Ugo, Boston New Music Initiative and the Berklee Silent Film Orchestra. A proponent of new music and champion of expanding the repertoire for the bass clarinet, she has premiered many solo and ensemble pieces and worked with composers including Claudio Ambrosini, Louis Andriessen and Gunther Schuller. Stephanie’s debut album, Waning Crescent, features all new works for solo bass clarinet by women composers, and was premiered as part of the Month of Contemporary Music Berlin. As a recording artist, she can be heard on the soundtracks to the films The Last Laugh, Varieté and the Jules Verne documentary Passage to Mars. Stephanie received her MMus from Trinity Laban Conservatoire, winning the Wilfred Hambleton Clarinet Competition in her final year. She graduated with a GPD and BMus from The Boston Conservatory, and was the first graduate with an Auxiliary Specialization in Bass Clarinet. Stephanie is a Selmer Paris artist.
