The emergence of underground rap sensation LijahT is more than just a wave, it’s a movement. Born in deep East Oakland and raised in Las Vegas, LijahT was destined for greatness. Football might’ve been his first love but music was his true love, thanks in part to his colorful parents and their eclectic taste in music, the list ranging from SOS Band to Bill Withers to Bob Marley to west coast pioneers like Tupac, Snoop, E-40, Souls Of Mischief and DJ Quik, just to name a few. As impactful as these artists might’ve been, LijahT’s greatest musical inspiration was his cousin, the late DJ Pam the Funkstress, one of the greatest DJ’s to ever grace the 1’s and 2’s. There’s no doubt her spirit lives through LijahT whose grind is undeniable, as evidenced by the high volume of incredible music he has dropped on all major streaming platforms: BLACK THOUGHTS (2017), BABY TO THE GAME (2018), his first studio project, LIJ (2019) and REAL NEGUS STORIES (2019). As far as live shows, LijahT has opened for Sir-Mix-A-Lot, Mickey Avalon and other venues from L.A. to the Bay Area. He has also worked extensively on projects with DJ Mustard’s protege, the late DJ Official. It’s no wonder Empire/Universal Music Group, signed LijahT to a distribution deal. They recognized something special in this unique talent whose dope rap style has an underground 90’s vibe. A vibe and energy he is determined to bring back to the culture, while giving it the mainstream attention it has long deserved.
