Solar Taxi were an Electro Pop band from Waterford, Ireland. Following some singles and 2011's She Dies With Beautiful Teeth EP they released their debut album in 2012. The much anticipated Broken Brother's Secret Bells was the result of a year and a half's intensive song‐writing and recording. Energetic, diverse, soulful & rammed with catchy tunes, it soaked up a wide range of influences ranging from Kate Bush, Goldfrapp to Daft Punk to Nikka Costa. The album delivered an eclectic mix of sounds which made it hard to pigeon‐hole. It didn’t fail to deliver the energetic electro‐pop that they were known for, with the gusto & sass of Browne’s delivery. However, the folky Nick Drake influenced acoustic intro on Saturday’s Children, the Beatles sounding Within An Inch Of My Life and the orchestral opus Parcels, showcased an ambitious, multi faceted album, full of varying tempo and colour. In the bands short time they licensed songs to US movie soundtracks and TV shows and shared the bill with 50 Cent, Faithless, also opening for a sold out Roxette in the O2 Arena in Dublin. Following the demise of the band in 2014, singer Aisling Browne does session work and now sings with King Kong Company, producer and bass player Peter Vogelaar continues to produce and remix, releasing his 2nd album Inner Creatures in 2020. Plans are in place for reunion shows in 2022 to mark the 10th anniversary of the album's release. Watch this space!
