Biography

The foundation of Dystopia goes back to the hot summer of 2003. After the early years their definitive style started taking shape around 2007 when they released their first album, Incompetence Drive. Their music could be described as a sort of intensive yet very melodic metal which seamlessly combines their progressive metal, southern, metalcore, or even arena rock influences. The lyrics are a mixture of personal and philosophic content, which - even when hitting a critical voice - tend to leave the listener in the state of hope. Their second album Way to Unfold was released in april 2014. One year after, the guys recorded their highly sought after cover of Sting's Englishman in New York. After hitting the stage on the worlds biggest metal talent contest at Wacken Open Air in 2016, Dystopia decided to take the game to a new level. The music video for their first single of the new release “Purge Yourself” was launched on youtube on march 22, 2018. In the summer of 2018, their third studio album “Building Bridges” came out accompanied by the music video for the single “The Remedy Engine”, also featured on the special CD appendix of Legacy magazine’s 2018 summer issue: “The Hungarian Legacy”.
