Biography

Born Jahlil Rashawn Ford on November 7, 1996, from Berkeley, California, is a young up and coming R&B artist with passionate, melodic styles similar to Drake, The Weeknd, and Torey Lanez. Started off specifically just making beats in 2017 before discovering his singing and songwriting talents in the late year of 2020. Rolo’s first ever song-written project “But I’m Not An Artist EP”, which he self-produced, was released late 2020 with top songs “Gear Up” and “Meaning To (feat. 96)” . He explains his reasoning for switching from solely music production to both singing/ songwriting and production as he states “The average listener doesn’t listen to instrumentals on a daily basis and I want people to hear my beats. So, I had to start putting some words on them “, hinting at the meaning of the EP title. Next project on the list, “Just Getting Started” would be Rolo’s first official album released early March 2021 with top songs such as “After Party”, “Stay With Me”, and the smooth slowed-down cover song of Drake’s “Controlla”. This project reflects on the artist’s daily life situations (past/present/future), relationships wether good or bad, and as well as his official decision to pursue a career as an R&B artist. Only time will tell before this persona will attract some serious attention for the vibe of his music is undeniable. Be sure to save any and every song this young superstar puts out.
