Biography

Hugo Arán (Barcelona), author, musician, lyricist and producer. In the first stage he is attracted to Brazilian music, which will be noticed later in many of his compositions. In 2014, after a trip to Latin America, he recorded his first album Anuario, produced by the Chilean Carlos Narea, an album conceived between Spain and Brazil. Back in Barcelona, he embarks on his first project as an author and producer, Memoria muscular (2017), a work in which he has the collaboration of El Kanka, Ana Rossi and Márcio Faraco, one of the his great references. In 2021 and after several trips to the American continent, he presents Extinciones y sus causas. An extensive work in which he has more than 20 musicians from the Barcelona jazz scene and with the collaboration of Alessio Arena and Margherita Abita. In 2024 he releases Ar, an album of collaborations through which the tradition of Brazilian percussion and rhythms travels. Lyrics in Spanish and Portuguese and musicians from both sides of the Atlantic make up a mosaic of Ibero-American musical affinity. The new album includes Ney Matogrosso, Vinicius Cantuaria, Paulinho Moska, Ceumar, Thiago Amud, Sérgio Santos, Makely Ka and Leo Minax among other brazilian artists.
