Laquitta Willis aka Lady Q grew up in the small town of Ada Taylor (Quarter) Louisiana. She grew up listening to the sound of blues being played by her father on his guitar every Saturday morning. She was the only kid out of three sibling that had a love for his music, didn’t matter where she was, when she heard the sounds of his amplifier over the Quarters, she came home running to sing to his beats. She would grab a comb or brush and pretend she was Tina Turner, whom is her idol. As she grew older, the music never left her heart, later in life she join with two other ladies in Minden La to form their own small group called Ecstasy, with a local producer called NC Records. They would sing in small clubs around the (318) area, in 1994 they won 1st place in the KMJJ Talent show landing a opportunity to go to the Soul Train Music Awards. After 24 years, she was introduce to Southern Soul by a local artist, and became singer, songwriter, Lady Q Queen of Soul. She joined his label in 2018, and he wrote and released her first album, Class N Session. She is now an independent artist, working with different producers to enhance her sound.
