Hailing from the Galloway Road area of Scarborough, Grainz North first picked up a microphone when he was 16. The loss of both parents at an early age could have led the aspiring rapper down a dangerous path, however the guidance and support of his brothers and grandmother allowed him to channel his pain into music and gave him the space he needed to develop as an artist. Behind the scenes Grainz and his brother launched TheWayOut, a platform determined to advance his career and help youth in the community tap into their creativity. In the time since Grainz has developed an eclectic rap-style with an array of songs that range from street bangers to more melodic deep dives into various emotions. His music has garnered a lot of attention and has been shared by rap icons Fat Joe and Jadakiss. He also did a feature with Rowdy Rebel titled “Different Language” Grainz' most recent musical offering is a mixtape titled “For What it's Worth Way2Loud Edition”, featuring his vibrant style that paints vivid pictures of life in his east Scarborough community. Grainz is projected to have a viable career.
