King Cizzy is a prominent emerging artist out of Mozambique. He began writing and performing in 2009 and released his first EP, CDTSYCAO, in 2015. He started garnering attention in 2018 with his debut album, Junior, followed by the release of his second EP, Barulho, in 2019, and sold-out performances for local fans. It is a deep reverence to both contemporary hip-hop and the sound of celebrated African musicians he was immersed in from a young age. An inventive entrepreneur, with a Music Production Certificate from the Campus of Perfoming Arts in Pretoria, South Africa, he is a co-founder of the independent record label, Dream Inc., and the creative agency, La Maison De Choix. An exciting rising artist, he’s part of a young, ambitious wave of creativity and innovation, poised to rise up as a new collective force bringing their talent from Mozambique to the world.
