Mathieu Ruz, born in 1988, is a strongly engaged singer of traditional folk genres of the Caribbean coast of Colombia. He's committed to spread the music learnt by oral tradition from his ancestors and to save the cultural legacy of his region. Becoming an example for a whole new generation of young folk singers to keep their traditions alive, and open windows and doors for our music to be visible to the world. Mathieu is a tireless warrior against the loss of his traditions, he acknowledges that the music evolves with the time and he would like to make it up for his culture, to make it transcend with the times taking it to new horizons and heights, making it to be listened all over the world, and why not, mixed and fused with another musical traditions.
