Sly Jones grew up on the Gulf Islands of British Columbia , surrounded by nature and wildlife. However his hometown had a often looked over problem that the rich and newcomers from Vancouver avoided seeing; Drugs , struggle, and poverty are threaded through the Islands. Sly Jones uses his voice for these people , tackling societal issues, grief, and the human condition to bring awareness that not everyone has it easy, in hopes that his music will not only inspire others out of spiraling addiction , but also help build stronger communities.
