Biography

Blasphemous Basement is a trio best described as an experimental powerhouse. The band consists of Ben Wolfe (drums, bass, keys), Isaac Cosgrove (guitar) and Jack Bolton (keys, horns), though they frequently bring in collaborator Owen Kufta for even more chaos. Basement has created their own unique style of music, meshing the sounds of bands like Chat Pile and black midi with the genres of stoner rock, free jazz, prog metal, and more. Basement has attracted some niche attention, being described as "the most exciting experimental act active at the moment," first attracting listeners through their third album, Music From The Depths (2023 Remaster). Before 2024, the band notably released the albums Evidence Of Unintelligent Life Forms From Other Planets, Off The Crust (2024 Remaster), and Kingdom Of The Sea Lord (2024 Remaster), before beginning a monstrous release schedule of at least one single or album per week. Ending with The Wrong Side Of The Bed (2024 Remaster), the streak resulted in an insane 20 releases in just 17 weeks. For their second anniversary, the band put together 22 releases, all put out in one day. During 2024, Basement's release schedule drastically slowed as they refined their jams and continued to work on their biggest studio project to date: Seth, featuring the single Solace Thieves. They are ending out the year by gearing up for the release of Midevening Corn, perhaps their best jam session yet, featuring an insane cover of bmbmbm by black midi.
