Sweden-based John Venkiah Trio began their journey in 2010, when they quickly found a connection through jazz. With Swedish jazz pioneer Jan Lundgren as his mentor, Venkiah has a wide range of influences from jazz greats Ella Fitzgerald, Brad Mehldau and Keith Jarrett to contemporary and soul artists like Sam Cooke, Stevie Wonder and Paul Simon. The trio received Ystad Jazz Next Generation Award in 2020 and have been acclaimed by critics around the world. Their third album "On to Something Good" is due for release on may 7th on the record label Imogena.
