Winona Oak's collaboration with The Chainsmokers on "Hope" helped launch her into the spotlight. Despite her rise to fame in LA, her Swedish roots, where she grew up in Sollerön's Nordic forests, remain close to her heart. In Sollerön, known as the Island of the Sun, Oak spent her childhood and adolescence riding horses through the open forests that formed the backdrop for her acclaimed 2022 debut album Island of the Sun. After moving to Stockholm to pursue her passion for music, Winona honed her craft and signed with Atlantic/Neon Gold Records in LA. She achieved success with her debut solo single "He Don't Love Me" and released EPs like "Closure" and "SHE," earning critical acclaim. In 2023, Oak signed with indie label Nettwerk, gearing up for an intimate EP release. This deeply personal project was inspired by her mother's passing in May 2023. Oak channeled her raw emotions into this heart-wrenching collection, viewing songwriting as a form of therapy and a means to create without constraints.
