Andrea Marino, Hooded “In Tha Place”, is a Pegli (Genoa, Italy) born rapper. Since a young age, he has always been fascinated by rap music, which quickly became his passion. Due to his upbringing, which led to an inclination to cultivate the American dream, he always favored American hip-hop. Therefore, in 2015 he started writings songs completely in English, which is something he will never stop doing. Indeed, he never wrote a song in Italian! Because of this fact, he proudly defines himself as “The Wop”, that is how Americans used to call Italians. At the beginning of 2023 he moved to the United States to study in college and further pursue his music career. Since his first songs, dated back to 2016, he has tried to bring his audience music that detached from nowadays trend, displaying well structured lyrics as well as captivating flows. Talking about everyday struggles, being judged as “different”, being the “underdog”, always trying to step out of our comfort zone and the motivation to succeed in spite of all this, everyone can relate to his lyrics.
