Frans Duijts is a Dutch pop singer who broke through to mainstream success in 2008 with the hit single "Jij Denkt Maar Dat Jij Alles Mag Van Mij." Born on May 10, 1979, in Tiel, Netherlands, he is greatly influenced by levenslied legend André Hazes, a celebrated Dutch singer who died in 2004. Indeed, Duijts' first major hit single was a cover version of Hazes' 1986 song "Jij Denkt Maar Dat Jij Alles Mag Van Mij." Released as part of a four-song EP in 2008, the song was a Top 40 hit single for Duijts, and the follow-up single, "Komt Er Voor Mij Dan Ook 'n Dag," was an even bigger hit, reaching the Top 20. Meanwhile, Duijts released the full-length album Zo Ben Ik Mezelf (2008) on Captain Rob Records. The album spawned a couple additional singles, the Top 30 hits "Lieveling" and "Nee, Niet Zeggen Hoe Ik Leven Moet." Amid this success, an album of older Duijts material, Denken Dat Je Alles Mag... (2009), was also released by Captain Rob Records. The album includes the previously released single "Samen Op Het Strand," a minor hit for Duijts back in 2007. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
