Damond Blue grew up in Baltimore where he, like many others, were exposed to the street life. After witnessing the death of a close friend, Damond decided that lifestyle was no longer for him and began taking his god-given talent seriously. Damond describes his sound as “smooth trap”, an edgy blend of R&B and Rap. There are many talented artists, but few are equipped to achieve greatness. And there are less artists that give back to the communities that have molded them. Damond is a staunch supporter of the youth, especially in Baltimore, that are often facing many challenges early on. That’s why Damond is constantly giving back through his "Beats Not Bullets" community organization. Damond’s first introduction as an artist came in 2015 with the release of his mixtape “Blessonz”. That project featured Houston legend Bun B, King Los, Fat Trel and more. Already having the support of solidified hometown acts like Los and Trel was the catalyst needed for Damond to be taken seriously outside of Baltimore. His follow up single “Give It To You”, which started to heat up in Baltimore, was later adornd with a remix and verse from DC native Wale. This single transitioned into Damond releasing “Dream Bigger: Vol. 1”, with no features. and the project was well received. His latest effort, “V.S.O.P.”, released October 2018 via Dream Bigger/EMPIRE features: heavy hitters like Young Thug & Moneybagg Yo. Damond, now living in Atlanta, is even more inspired to push his brand further.
