At the age of ten, he fell in love with the sound of the saxophone but only started playing at the age of twelve. He continues to play the instrument today. At the age of fifteen, he was recognised as a promising young jazz saxophonist and received his first professional gig at Emerald Resort and Casino He started his own live band in 2016 and was subsequently exposed to the music business. He next moved to the Music Academy of Gauteng to pursue music studies. He was a member of the Tshwane Gospel Choir’s horn section in 2020, as well as the music director for both his band and a school band. In the year 2020, while the nation was under lockdown, he started to make music, and that is when his life changed. He continued to educate himself with Fruity Loops even though he had no idea he could compose music before being introduced to it. He was preoccupied with entering the recording studios to learn how the equipment and software operated. With a saxophone, Lefa worked with many incredible musicians, including Mr. Themba Mkhize, Dr. Steve Kekana, Brian Themba, Sir Lsg, and Ralf Gum Following that, he collaborated on projects with Sir Trill, Nkosazana Daughter, Cici, Azana, Murumba pitch, Dinky Kunene, Jessica LM, Aymos, Starr Healer and Mobi Dixon to name a few names.
