Timur and the Dime Museum came together on America’s Got Talent, where they performed a Klaus Nomi cover, Total Eclipse, with the legendary songwriter Kristian Hoffman on keys. From there, they have built a reputation for fusing glam-opera sounds with fierceness and theatricality. The band is lead by Timur, the Kazakh-American "extravagantly transgressive tenor" (LA Times), joined by composer Daniel Corral on keys, Matthew Setzer on guitar, David Tranchina on electric bass and Andrew Lessman on drums. The band is best known for their performing arts projects produced by Beth Morrison Projects, including Black Lodge by David T. Little (Opera Philadelphia, LA Phil), COLLAPSE (BAM Next Wave Festival, Redcat, Miami Light Project, Operadagen Festival), and Zoophilic Follies (NOW Festival Redcat). Upcoming new shows include Klaus from Space (O. Festival in Rotterdam) and The Great Soviet Bucket (Miami Light).
