Experience the lilting lyricism of the Argentine zamba or the rich rhythm of the chacarera with the intimate and passionate interpretations of Argentinean folk and classical music by ROSA INCAICA (Annelise Skovmand, voice and Pablo González Jazey, guitar)! The group's musical expedition combines repertoire rooted in the folk tradition, including original compositions, with arrangements that broach the classical chamber music world. ROSA INCAICA, formerly the Inca Rose Duo, in 2006 undertook the works of Argentinean classical composers Alberto Ginastera and Carlos Guastavino in their CD Flores Argentinas: “…a delicate and balanced lilt between the traditions of folk and art song.” Their first recording was Things We Said Tomorrow - a CD wherein John Dowland and Lennon-McCartney coexist in an exceptional way with Catalonian folk songs. ROSA INCAICA in 2010, collaborating with artists from both the Argentinean folk and classical realms, recorded Cielo y Tierra and then in 2013, to excellent critical reviews: Norte. Suite Norteña includes the premiere recording of the 2nd Suite for Guitar/Orchestra by Eduardo Falú. In 2018, ROSA INCAICA returns to classical music with Canciones de Ginastera and Guastavino Vol. 2: Pájaros. ROSA INCAICA has performed in Argentina, Europe and the United States, in programs celebrating music from Argentina, including songs by Astor Piazzolla, Atahualpa Yupanqui, Carlos Gardel, Cuchi Leguizamón, and Eduardo Falú.
