With mixtapes already circulating amongst his peers, Oliver Jones was demonstrating as a teenager an undeniable passion for rapping, and a maturity beyond his years in his song writing. After meeting producer Mello D, the South London duo predominantly worked in silence whilst cultivating their own signature sound. In 2016 Oliver released a solo mixtape entitled ‘The Dilla Sessions’. The project was compiled completely from a selection of lo-fi beats produced by the late legendary hip hop producer J Dilla. This proved to be the perfect platform for Oliver to adopt a no hooks, no frills approach to his artform. Oliver Jones is now preparing the release of his debut album ‘Ugly’. Long time collaborator Mello D, provides rich and cinematic production across the project, from which we hear a self loathing Jones lay himself bare by subjecting his worst traits from the onset. Bangers is the 2nd single from the LP project.
