Biography

Born and raised in Sicily, Chiara Minaldi learned to play the piano and sing at an early age. At the age of 18 she attended classes at a school of Jazz where she improved her style and technique. She performed throughout Italy and won several awards, performed as a guest star at “Euro Bass Day 2010” where she sang with international artists such as Bobby Vega; she also received the Piacenza Jazz 2011 Voice and Performance Special Mention and was awarded the Best Female Singer prize at “Lucca Donna Jazz 2011”. She duetted with Rossana Casale, Fabio Concato, Pippo Matino, performed as the opening act for Teresa Salgueiro, Mario Venuti, Antonella Ruggero, and was the only artist who won two prizes at Premio Bianca D'Aponte, 12th Edition, for female singers-songwriters. In collaboration with the best Sicilian jazz and pop musicians and together with jazz pianist and arranger Mauro Schiavone, Minaldi recorded her first album called “Intimate”, an intimate sweet-sounding work which is also an inner journey full of shades and jazz suggestions pervading the arrangements of the cult pop tracks contained in the album as well as the four new songs composed by the vocalist herself and the contrabassist. In October 2016 Minaldi won the Best Performance prize at Premio Bianca D'Aponte for female singers- songwriters in Aversa (IT) On November 2019 she released her second album in Italian, "Le parole hanno un'anima".
