Biography

For Bebe Wood, art is the ultimate form of expression, no matter the medium. Since making her series regular debut in Ryan Murphy’s The New Normal at just 11 years old, Wood, now 21, has carved a space for herself as one of Hollywood’s most promising young actors. But it’s with music that she discovered an outlet to find her own voice. Since teaching herself to play piano at 6, Wood has gradually studied the fundamentals of what it means to be a musician, learning how to play a host of instruments spanning the mandolin to the guitar while honing her skills as a vocalist. After spending much of her adolescence fine-tuning her taste for music, Wood began writing songs when she was 15, surveying both the world around her and matters of the heart and distilling those perceptions into composition. The result is sometimes brass-knuckled, sometimes tender, a carousel of songs conveying Wood’s breadth of creativity and ability to traipse between genre and form without losing her core sense of self.
